Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer

"Our vision is that someday no daughter will experience the loss of her father to pancreatic cancer before her wedding, her graduation, her first baby, or any other moment a proud dad should be a part of."

Hi friends, families, and all those wanting to help a great cause! We are striding in memory of Mike Oglesby.  He was diagnosed with a DVT blood clot in his leg in September 2015 at the age of 52. In early November, he was diagnosed with metastatic, stage four pancreatic cancer. He battled the cancer for two months and passed away January 6, 2016. He's our guardian angel now, watching over us and helping us raise awareness. Not a day goes by that we don't miss him.

This is our second year participating in PurpleStride. The event is held on September 23rd, 2017 in West Des Moines, Iowa at Raccoon River Park. Registration begins at 8am, the opening ceremonies are at 9:30am, and the race begins at 10am. You can sign up to run, do a virtual run, donate, or volunteer your time the day of the event. We stride not only in memory of Mike, but also for all of those affected by this deadly cancer. All proceeds benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to help fight pancreatic cancer.

Join our team "FajSquad"! Mike received his nickname "Faj" on RAGBRAI, coming from his two daughters calling him father. Every small donation will make a huge impact - whether is giving up your morning coffee for a $5 donation, making a $100 donation, or registering to be by our sides during the race. The 5 year survival rate is a slim 9%. Let's make a difference together!

Thank you all for your love and support. We can't tell you enough how much this means to us.

Much Love,

The Oglesby Family
