Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
My name is Joshua Sollano and I am an analyst and a military ERG lead from the Miami office. My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October of 2015. Doctors told her that she would be lucky to see her next birthday, which was December 9th. My mother fought her disease until December 11, two days beyond her birthday.
Pancreatic cancer is a particularly difficult disease to fight since symptoms are not felt until the cancer is in its advanced stages. Because of this, the survival rate is low compared to other types of cancer (under 10%). In honor of my mother and to support the search for a cure for this terrible disease I would like to start a fundraiser to raise money for anyone who would like to participate in the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's 5k run/walk event in Miami. This event is held annually to raise money for pancreatic cancer research and support groups.
