Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination. PurpleStride is the signature event of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Events such as this walk contribute millions of dollars towards PurpleStride’s mission to advance research, support patients, and create hope. Funds raised help provide support for patients while supporting research grants and advocacy efforts to increase federal pancreatic cancer research funding. Walks like this are also a time to honor loved ones that are fighting and those who have fought pancreatic cancer.
Grammy’s Gang was started in 2015 to support my mom who was fighting pancreatic cancer and had been for almost 3 years at that time. My mom is still the strongest person I know. She fought a great fight up until the very end. I miss my mom every day and wish that things could have been different. By participating in PurpleStride Boston and raising money for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, I hope to change the future of this disease so that things can be different and families in the future don’t have to suffer the incredible loss that is all too familiar to so many of us.
Grammy’s Gang has stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help us rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?
Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join us in the fight today.
