Wage Hope! Help support pancreatic cancer research!
Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
On June 27, 2019, Zona (Gramma "HooHoo") Levendoski was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. We are all connected to her in some way: a daughter, a mother, a sister, a cousin, an aunt, an uncle, a niece, a nephew, a grandchild, a friend, a colleague, a fellow volunteer, an acquaintance, a church congregant, a serious dog lover, a frequent Target shopper, a crafter, a quilter, a reader, a borderline-crazy lover of all things purple. If you are reading this, your life has been touched by pancreatic cancer.
We all love Zona in our own ways, and while we wish we could change her prognosis, or make it easier, we can't.
However, we CAN do something to help raise money and attention for this insidious disease. Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. More research, trials, education, and support are needed, and the Purple Ride/Stride is a great way to raise money (and have fun while doing it!)
Our team, HooHoo's YaHoos, has stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. We would love to raise as much money as possible before the Purple Ride/Stride on September 14, 2019. Please consider donating any amount you can, or (even better!) join our team and walk/run the 5k at the Ride/Stride in Maple Grove on September 14!
Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. We have learned SO MUCH about Zona's prognosis, options, the importance of palliative care, support groups, trials, and tons of other data on pancan.org. We use this information to barrage the oncologist's office with questions on a weekly basis. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. (Although, Zona thinks they are quite lovely.) Please join us in the fight today!
