Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer

Portland PurpleStride 2019:

We were on a high at the end of last summer. GPaul was able to stop IV chemo and start to live a normal life. That didn’t last long by December we were back in the hospital having surgery and deciding what the next step will be. The tumors were back and now that he wasn’t on anything he was able to start a clinical trial designated for his rare mutation. We are waiting for scans to see how the tumors are responding to the new medication. GPaul is doing wonderful with the new meds.

We are still hopeful that he’ll be able to live a long life to watch our daughter grow up!

Portland Stride 2018:

Our family life still revolves around treatment. Every other week for three days our lives move slowly and consists of so many unknowns. Today (3-13-18) marks treatment #39, 19 months straight.

We are looking forward to spring break our first family trip since the diagnosis in 2016. Our daughter is so excited to spend time on the beach with her daddy like before he was sick without a care in the world.

We had HUGE news during January’s scan. It revealed that there are no visible lesions in the liver with the only tumor on the pancreas measuring less than 1 cm w/l/h. This was coming off a good 8 months of no change what so ever!

Love always,

Kathleen, GPaul, and Lillian.

Portland Stride 2017:

August 4th 2016 GPaul was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer at the age of 29. We are walking for him because 29 is way to young, we are walking for our daughter because 6 (now7) is too young to watch her father go through this, for me because I had a plan of growing old with my husband, for his parents because no parent should have to watch their son fight for his life, and for my parents (his inlaws) who love him like a son. Plus many friends and family that he's close with.
