Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
The Purple Stride has become an annual tradition for my family since the passing of my mother, Sandy Sterling, to pancreatic cancer in 2014. My mother was passionate about cancer research throughout her life, having been diagnosed with both breast cancer and pancreatic cancer. Of all the major cancers, pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate, at just 9%. Organizations such as the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network are essential for furthering cancer research and studies in an effort to assist patients and their families, and, more specifically, double survival rates by the year 2020. Team Sandy has participated in strides through Washington, DC and Virginia Beach over the years, and now I'd like to start making it an annual tradition in Philadelphia! Thank you in advance to everyone for their contributions, and I hope some of you will join us for the main event on November 3rd!
