Every day, 147 people in this country are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. That means EVERY year we lose approximately 49,000 people to pancreatic cancer. And what's worse, with all the advances in other cancers, pancreatic cancer has had no change in it's survival rate in 40 years!
My amazing sister, Tracy Reese Gibson, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in May 2016 and bravely fought this battle with the love & support of her family & friends and the dedicated team at Johns Hopkins. Unfortunately, just a few weeks after participating in the PurpleStride event last year, she passed peacefully on October 24, 2017. We are thankful to the staff & her team at Hopkins, but as Tracy & her husband said to her doctor in her final days, keep doing what your doing AND MORE!
So we’re stepping up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer to help DO MORE!Will you help us rewrite the future of this disease by joining us in person or virtually!
Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating today, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join me in the fight today.
