Honoring the late Steve Lewis | Wage Hope with The Lewis Family at PurpleStride Phoenix
Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
Team #StridingForSteve is back — join us April 6th, 2019 for PurpleStride Phoenix!
In the Fall of 2016, one week before Thanksgiving, my Father Steven R. Lewis was diagnosed with Stage III Pancreatic Cancer. Three short months later, in the beginning of February 2017, he lost his valiant battle to the disease.
My Dad was a fighter — in every sense of the word. He overcame again and again throughout his sixty-four years.
We must continue to be courageous in his honor. What my Dad left behind was a beautiful legacy of walking each day as our true selves, having a laugh while facing life’s challenges, and being honest to a fault — but what also remains is more to be done. Since he is no longer waging war on his own battle, we must do what we have to do to #WageHope for this disease. I am bringing Team Striding For Steve back for our second annual PurpleStride Phoenix, the walk to end Pancreatic Cancer, so someday no family has to face the same devastation we have with Pancreatic Cancer to blame.
Every dollar received (whether by joining our team or tax deductible donation to our team) ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
