Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer

Like so many who participate in Purple Stride, my life was forever changed by pancreatic cancer. Eighteen years ago my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. My mom was one of the strongest people I have ever known. Yet, despite all her strength and fight she lost her battle within a year of her diagnosis. She was only 49 years old. I started Team Beth to honor the memory of my mom, Elizabeth (Beth) Kyler, so that we could continue her fight. My sister, brother , and I have had to go through life without our Mom. And although we carry her memory with us, we still feel her loss every day. My mom was an amazing person who was loved by everyone who knew her. So we come together each year to honor her memory and continue the fight. We wage hope that one day there will be a cure and no other family’s life will be scarred by this disease.

Pancreatic cancer is currently the third deadliest cancer in the United States. And in just three years it's expected to be the second leading cause in cancer-related deaths. PanCAN is an organization dedicated to finding a cure for pancreatic cancer. They are heavily involved in cancer research from funding research grants to supporting new clinical studies. PanCAN also provides patient services to help those currently fight this horrible disease. PurpleStride Philly is one of the largest run/walks with a donation goal of $815,000! Please join Team Beth in helping to reach that goal!! You can help by joining the team, donating, or simply by sharing the team page!!

Thank you all for helping to honor my mom’s memory!!
