Wage Hope to end pancreatic cancer
Hello, welcome to Irene Leach's fundraising page. As a team, we are committed to raising funds in support of Irene to help fund the PurpleStride's mission to end pancreatic cancer. My name is Adam, and I'm Irene's best (and only) son. Back in the spring of 2017, after my mom couldn't get over her "flu-like symptoms," and she was recommended to get a scan, we all knew it might be some bad news. I got a call from my dad after the appointment and he said she had pancreatic cancer. I had never really heard of it, so I asked him, "OK, what does that mean?" He was too upset to tell me and said to look it up. So there I was, alone and 1200+ miles away, reading Google and learning the fate of my mother who is 64 and was about to retire. We were going to ask them to come stay with us for a (winter) month here in the Carolinas, since they were both going to be retired. Well as you know, things in life change. I didn't know where or who to turn to. A group of men that I work out with ask for prayer requests after our workouts. I asked them to pray for Irene. They didn't know her. Heck, they didn't know me very well. We work out in different areas with different people. Word spread. For months (and even still today), my workout group members tell me they still pray. Church members called and simply said a prayer over the phone. I have a client who is a pastor. I just mentioned it to him, and he gave me a CD to listen to. It told me to be specific, and almost be demanding of healing. The odds weren't there, but I'm convinced that the power of all of us praying for her is what has kept her here with us: an odds-beating pancreatic cancer ass-kicking mom that she is. Stronger than I with the strength of the Lord behind her.
Would you consider a donation, of any size, in Irene's name? But for the glory of God and for the betterment of the future to kick this pancreass cancer to the curb?
Mark 11:24: Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. BELIEVE!
