We are Leda and Erin, proud daughters of Celso and Phil!
They were the same age when they were diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer.
Our dads were gone too soon. Phil was 62 when left us in September 2016, leaving behind his beloved wife Alyse, daughter Erin and son Greg.
Celso was 63 and passed away in June 2017, just a month before the birth of Matilda, who would be his first granddaughter. He is remembered by his wife Audália, daughters Juliana and Leda and son-in-law Sérgio.
Through their journeys, they taught us about faith, humility, hope, love, courage, and strength.
We, the Daughters of Warriors, are coming together for the second year in a row to pay homage to our dads at Purple Stride NYC. It was pancreatic cancer and our dads' fights that brought us together in the first place.
This is a very emotional event for us: a chance to remember them, to #WageHope and demand better options for patients, and to celebrate the gift of life and friendship.
This disease brought so much pain to us, but we refuse to accept there won't be a better future for others facing pancreatic cancer.
We want you to be part of our journey to change the future. All proceeds to go PanCAN. Please join our team now!
