Dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer on March 18, 2019.  The diagnosis was a devastating blow to our family but we were determined to save dad's life. We took dad to MD Anderson in Houston for the best possible chance. Doctors told us that his cancer was not curable but potentially treatable to give him more time and improve his quality of life. Unfortunately, there weren’t many treatment options and while waiting for a spot in a clinical trial, dad quickly declined and lost his battle with this deadly disease. Dad peacefully passed away at 3:03 am on May 30, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

From diagnosis to death was exactly 72 days. The way this all unfolded was just way too fast which makes it so difficult to accept that he’s gone. We miss his big smile, his sense of humor, and his love.

Pancreatic cancer is so deadly because the symptoms are vague and most people dismiss them as general gastrointestinal discomfort. By the time this cancer is diagnosed, it’s usually because it has spread to other organs and the options for treatment are limited and futile.

Please consider donating to the cause and help raise funding for clinical research related to early detection, better treatment, and prevention of pancreatic cancer. Our team, The Three Georges, has stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer.  Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to create better outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.

Dad was a hard working and humble man. He probably never realized just how much he’d be missed or how big of a void he would leave in our lives.....if he only knew all the tears we’ve shed for him. We miss him so much. Rest in peace, dad.
