Welcome to My Personal Page
My name is Angela, and my mom, Deann, was diagnosed in early December 2018 after a biliary stent placement revealed a tumor in her pancreas. After some further diagnostic testing, additional cancer nodules were found in the peritoneum, thus affirming Stage IV, inoperable metastatic pancreatic cancer.
She courageously left her home in MN to come to Arizona to get into a clinical trial, which quickly became impossible due to other complications from her cancer. After several unsuccessful chemotherapy treatments, my mother lost her incredibly short and difficult battle on July 11, 2019 at the age of 72.
It is heartbreaking that Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination. We have to continue the fight.
So, one of the ways that I help fight this deadly cancer is by participating & fundraising for this event. I created 'Team Dede' and have enlisted some friends & family to step up with me to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. And now I ask you to help us in this fight...I ask that you please make a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network today. PanCan is committed to changing the face of this disease, and I am too.
Every dollar that you donate ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating to our team today, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2021.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join us in the fight today in remembrance of my mom, Deann, and for everyone else either fighting for themselves or their loved ones.
