In September, 2014, my dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Just 8.5 short months later, he passed away. Up until my dad was diagnosed, I did not know anything about Pancreatic Cancer. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN) is a wonderful resource that provided information and support as I learned more about my dad’s diagnosis.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. It is typically undetectable until symptoms present themselves at a late stage when few treatment options are available.

PANCAN understands that developing early detection tools is key to bettering the survival rate for this cancer. Since PANCAN has started PurpleStride, the 5-year survival rate for Pancreatic Cancer has increased from 6% to 9%. The goal is to double the 5-year survival rate by 2020.

I’ve stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation or by joining me in the walk?
