The time passes... each day forward, is another day further away from the last time I saw him take his last breath. It doesn't get any easier but you learn to accept it and move on. The sadness, the anger, the confusion, they never disappear but manifest in other ways.

For those that do not know, my dad passed away on September 1st, 2016 from pancreatic cancer. From the time he was diagnosed, to the day he took his last breath, this disease ate away at him and turned an amazing, funny, energetic man, into a shell of his former self, no longer able to walk, shave, or even eat. This disease took his dignity and the light that made him my hero... my Superman.

If you were lucky enough to meet him, you would know that he was one of the most generous men alive. Because of what he instilled in me I have decided to do what I can in order to fight and hopefully, one day, make pancreatic cancer a thing of the past.

I've stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?

Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating today, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.

Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can't take away our determination.

Purple ribbons aren't enough. Please join me in the fight today.

This will be my third time running this 5K and as I look back at last year's fundraiser I am still in awe and disbelief at the support I received from my friends and family. I hope to come close to my goal this year, even though I know that times are tough. I would also like you all to consider joining my team and running/walking the 5K with me.

Remember, every little bit helps. I thank all of you for your support.
