Welcome to My Personal Page
On April 28, 2017, my life changed forever. I was diagnosted with stage IIA Pancreatic cancer. It was locally advanced encasing the Superior Mesenteric Artery, for which I had 4 months of chemo. After the 4 cycles, the mass had removed itself from the SMA. I met with my surgeon who wanted me to have radiation so that I had clean margins with surgery. I had 5 weeks / 5 times a week radiation condensed into 5 days, every other day. I had Whipple surgery Nov 29, 2017 and was in the hospital for a week. My team of doctors wanted my to have more chemo just to be sure everything was gone. I had 2 more cycles of chemo finishing Feb 21, 2018. On April 30, 2018, 1 year and 2 days later, I returned to work full-time.
Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
I’ve stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today?
Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating today, you are supporting vital efforts to double pancreatic cancer survival by 2020.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join me in the fight today.
