Celebrating 6 years strong being pancreatic cancer free!!!!
In the summer of 2011, I went to the emergency room for a kidney stone. After months of testing, it was determined that I had a cancerous tumor on my pancreas and was going to need surgery to remove the tail of my pancreas, his spleen, and 21 lymph nodes. On November 15, 2011, the surgerons were able to remove all the of the tumor and Matt was declared cancer free!
This years PurpleStride Delaware is a personal celebration...I am one of the 9% who has survived pancreatic cancerr for over 5 years!!!
But I celebrate with a mission in mind: to end pancreatic cancer so that my story of survival can be the story of the other 91% of people who are diagonosed and stories do not end like mine.
