Pancreatic Cancer Asociation in Spain
Korean Pancreatic Cancer Network was founded in 2015 by pancreatic surgeons in Korea.
Happy Holidays!

Korean Pancreatic Cancer Network (KPCN), founded in 2015, is determined to make the fight against pancreatic cancer in Korea everybody's fight. Public awareness of the disease in this country remains low, making patients' and doctors' struggle against pancreatic cancer a lonely one. However, KPCN is only at the beginning of its journey and will continue to make small steps. The organization looks forward to working closely and collaborating with WPCC and expanding activities in Korea.

Thank you for your hard work in making sure World Pancreatic Cancer Day 2018 was hugely successful. A powerful quote, as well as highlights of your achievements, follow:

"What we have developed into is amazing. I am honoured to be part of this campaign. I feel that this is the best year, by far. We represented the global coalition that we are through videos and graphics that were translated in many languages, and visual representations from around the world. Truly impressive." Anonymous WPCD survey feedback
  • 849 media placements and 997 million earned media impressions, a 200 percent increase in impressions compared to 2017 (804 hits and 332M impressions)
  • Almost 1.4 million social media impressions (likes, clicks, comments and shares)
  • Over 45,000 clicks to the WPCD website from our content
  • "Check Engine" video received 403,169 views, compared to the 2017 "At the Doctor" video (142,000 views)
  • Animated social graphics (GIFS) – Procrastination, Unresponsive and Check Engine – received more than 430,000 views on Facebook
  • Google searches for: "Pancreatic Cancer Month" increased 400 percent; "Pancreatic Cancer Survival Rates" increased 250 percent; and "What are the symptoms of Pancreatic Cancer" increased 100 percent
  • 46 percent increase in media geographic diversity with 38 countries participating vs. 26 countries in 2017
  • More than 230 landmarks and buildings around the world displayed purple lights (with over 100 in Italy alone); images of these landmarks were shared on social media
Save the date – World Pancreatic Cancer Day – Nov. 21, 2019!

We are offering members who attend the 2019 WPCC Annual Meeting the opportunity to attend two of three workshops. To ensure we pick topics that are of interest to members, we need your feedback on options. Please complete the following survey by Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018. It will take under a minute to complete but will greatly help us ensure that the Annual Meeting workshops meet your needs!

We have openings on two committees:

World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition Steering Committee
We have one vacancy to fill on the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition Steering Committee. This is open to all members; however, from February we will no longer have representation from a European organization, so we are especially interested in applications from Coalition members who are based in Europe. Read about the WPCC Steering Committee role.

World Pancreatic Cancer Day Committee
We are recruiting three new members to the World Pancreatic Cancer Day Committee. This is open to all Coalition members, but we are especially interested in filling gaps on the Committee from member organizations that are based in the United States and Europe. Read about the WPCD Committee role.

If you have questions or wish to discuss the roles, please contact Clara MacKay at Completed applications for both the WPCC Steering Committee and the WPCD Committee should be emailed to by Friday, Jan. 4, 2019.

We are grateful to our generous sponsors for their sustained support this year: Celgene, Novocure, Servier, Halozyme, Immunovia and Ipsen. Thanks to you, we are together accomplishing extraordinary things for the global pancreatic cancer community!
