WPCD: 5 Things You Need to Know

World Pancreatic Cancer Day is almost here – very exciting! Wondering how to best prepare with only a week to go? Our Oct. 24 webinar about WPCD Final Details has all the information you need, and you can view it here if you missed it. The top five things you need to know to prepare are:
  1. Promote the "Check Engine" video often, which is available in seven languages here. You can also find other videos there, including testimonials and powerful montages.
  2. Like, share and retweet on WPCD social channels: Facebook (tag @worldpancreaticcancerday), Twitter (tag @worldpancreatic) and Instagram (tag @worldpancreatic)
  3. Use the approved hashtags: #WPCD, #DemandBetter, #PancreaticCancer, #WorldPancreaticCancerDay
  4. Promote/share the variety of core social graphics
  5. Send your user generated content now to eeun@pancan.org – it's not too late!


CELGENE ANNOUNCES ImpactPANC WINNERS

Celgene invited members of the WPCC to submit applications for consideration in its second ImpactPANC round – a global competition designed to recognize and honor patient organizations that demonstrate excellence in crafting innovative solutions for patients and families living with pancreatic cancer. The topic for this year's competition was, "Supporting the Needs of Caregivers in Pancreatic Cancer." Congratulations to the following WPCC member organizations that are the recipients of a $20,000 (USD) ImpactPANC award:
  1. Canada: Craig's Cause "Caregivers Tool Kit Webinar Series"
  2. Trinidad and Tobago: The John E. Sabga Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer "The John E. Sabga Pancreatic Cancer Patient Navigation Program"
  3. Austria: Selbsthilfegruppe Pankreaskarzinom (Support Group Pancreatic Cancer) "Break4you"
  4. Cyprus: PASYKAF "Empowering Caregivers of Pan Can Patients for Enhanced Patient Outcomes (EC for EPO)"
  5. Winner is pending notification and announcement, based on Celgene country guidelines
